Local SJM media report that the shots hit the driver of the unit, so he was taken to the nearest hospital.
National Police agents and district Serenazgo personnel arrived at the scene to cordon off the area.
Violence against public transport company workers does not stop. Only last Monday, two transporters were shot at in Metropolitan Lima. Pedro Vega was murdered inside his vehicle at the Primera de Pro location, in Los Olivos; while hours later a bus from the Machu Picchu companies was shot at at the intersection of Morales Duárez and Universitaria avenues. The driver and a passenger were injured.
And hours after this attack against “Los Rojitos”, a driver was shot to death while covering his route in Villa El Salvador, on the night of Friday, October 2.
