According to the relevant decision of the Russian government on April 27, the period of temporary stay in the country was extended for the drivers of the CIS states, as well as Georgia, who carry out international automobile transportation.
About this “Armenpress”is informed by the decree published on the website of the Russian government.
Accordingly, the period of temporary stay in the Russian Federation without a visa requirement for citizens of the CIS member states, as well as citizens of Georgia performing professional international automobile transportation, will become a total of up to 180 days within one calendar year. At the same time, these foreign citizens must submit an application in order to enter and stay (reside) in the Russian Federation.
The relevant decision of the Russian government will enter into force on June 30, 2026.
Earlier, new migration regulations were established in Russia, according to which, a 90-day period of stay in the Russian Federation during one calendar year was set for citizens of countries with a visa-free regime with the Russian Federation.
After that decision, transport drivers held regular protests in Armenia, demanding the government to work with the Russian side to change the decision, because 90 days is too short for transport drivers, who often end up in long queues at border checkpoints.
