Rrahmani Kurtit on the Civil Code: Remove those two articles, I’m warning you, don’t do this

The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Eman Rrahmani, has warned Prime Minister Albin Kurti that he will again oppose the adoption of the Civil Code, if the two articles related to civil unions between persons of the same gender remain in it.
In Debate Plus on Dukagjini TV, Rrahmani said that the Civil Code has not yet passed to the Government, while according to him, it is expected to proceed on November 15.
“The law has not yet passed the Government, the law is expected to come to the Government on November 15. Let Albin Kurti remove those two articles and let him pass the law. I am warning him, don’t let it fail”, said Rrahmani.
He contradicted Kurti’s statements that he is challenging the values through this Code, saying that he will not allow, in his opinion, the family to be violated.
“He is saying: ‘No, I am challenging you on these values, I want to destroy my family’. And since he is not destroying it, there is no one to stop there. I still have to stop with him”, declared Rrahmani.
During today’s plenary session in the Assembly of Kosovo, Rrahmani and Kurti had a debate regarding the new Civil Code, which the Government intends to make ready for approval in the Assembly by November 15.
Rrahmani asked the prime minister why he is continuing with this initiative, despite previous objections, describing it as harmful to the traditional family.
In his answer, Kurti said that Kosovo needs a sustainable civil reform and that the protection of the family is an essential part of it.
He emphasized that the Civil Code contains 997 pages and 1,630 articles, criticizing Rrahman’s focus on only two of them.
