KUWAIT CITY, June 20: Jahra traffic officers arrested a citizen for driving at 186 kilometers per hour on Jahra Road. A security official stated that this is part of the General Traffic Department’s ongoing campaign to nab violators of traffic regulations. He said the citizen was referred to the traffic police station and his car was impounded.
Meanwhile, despite assurances that intensified traffic campaigns reduced the number of juveniles arrested for driving without a license, the General Traffic Department arrested one juvenile for the same violation during its recent 24-hour campaign. According to a security source, the intensive campaigns targeting juveniles driving without a license reduced the number of violators to just one in the latest campaign – a citizen who was referred to the juvenile detention center.
