The digital infrastructure company Cirion Technologies confirmed this Sunday the start of technical work to identify the point of impact of the submarine fiber optic cable damaged by earthquakeswith the purpose of restore international connectivity in the country.
The work began after the arrival of the specialized vessel Wave Sentinel on Friday, July 17, to the coast of Falcón state, when technical teams from the company Cirion Technologies began the immersion of an underwater robot to the exact location of the cut.
After completing the inspection, specialists detected both ends of the broken cable and immediately began connectivity evaluations. These analyzes will mark the protocol to follow for the immediate repair of the system.
The company explained that, prior to the deployment of the vessel to the point of failure, the stabilization of the network and the progressive expansion of connectivity capacity were prioritized.
The next official reports will detail the magnitude of the damage to the cable due to the earthquakes and the evolution of the repair work.
