The Responsible Business Fund Plus (RBF+) is set to launch its third call for proposals, offering financial support to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating across Myanmar’s agriculture, livestock, fisheries and agri-food value chains.
Jointly funded by the European Union, Switzerland and Denmark, RBF+ is a targeted financial assistance programme built around three core pillars. The initiative aims to support the long-term growth and sustainability of agri-food MSMEs while creating employment opportunities and reducing the sector’s environmental impact.
The upcoming call for proposals covers a range of thematic areas across the programme’s three pillars. Under the first pillar, funding will support Area 1, which focuses on modern agricultural inputs and technologies for farmers, and Area 2, which promotes technology localization to enable MSMEs to manufacture modern agricultural machinery and technologies within the region. The second pillar emphasiges environmental sustainability and product quality, covering Area 4 on water-use efficiency, Area 5 on waste treatment and recycling, and Area 7 on food safety and value-added production. The third pillar emphasizes knowledge sharing and investment, including Area 9, which promotes knowledge exchange for farmers and agri-food MSMEs to help them adapt to changing market demands and standards, and Area 10, which supports greater technology exposure and technical investment for agri-input and agri-tech companies.
The RBF+ will host a series of hybrid information sessions, both online and in person, to introduce its third call for proposals and provide prospective applicants with a better understanding of the application process.
