The former Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Haki Abazi, said in Balkan Update that Albania should reflect on political developments and not allow violent protests to undermine the security and stability of the country.
Abazi emphasized that protest is a democratic instrument, but violence cannot be part of it. According to him, in situations of chaos opportunities are created for intervention by various actors, while he warned that there are interests for Albania to remain in transition and in crisis.
“All of us must be realized in order to realize the objective of being part of the European family. Albania is a member of NATO and any kind of security breach will not be Albania’s problem alone.
Protest is a democratic instrument, but not violence. At this level of chaos everyone is given the opportunity to penetrate such situations. There are quite a few who love Albania in transition and in crisis. Now Albania is in the phase of 2007, with the idea of slowing down and creating a new transition. There are many reasons for Albania to reflect. Our political maturity must understand that political dialogue is the last stage of any kind of conflict. We must not allow the Albanian territories to be a training ground for the sick ambitions of the neighboring countries. Be it Antifa or some other consolidated element. Political processes are very important.”
