Muscat: The Port of Duqm recently handled over 900 vehicles in a single shipment.
The port received a roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel carrying over 900 vehicles, demonstrating the scale, efficiency, and precision of vehicle handling operations at the port, a statement said.
From the ship to the storage yard, every movement is managed with speed, accuracy, and reliability, ensuring smooth handling and facilitating the arrival of vehicles to the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf markets, it said.
At the vehicle RoRo terminal in the Port of Duqm, vehicles are unloaded from specialized RoRo vessels, then handled in dedicated yards and prepared for their next voyage.
With an annual handling capacity of 5,000 vehicles, the terminal is equipped to handle large volumes of vehicle imports and exports, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and operational reliability, it said.
Due to its strategic location, the roll-on/roll-off Port of Duqm terminal can contribute to linking global vehicle trade with regional market.
Its location makes it attractive to global shipping lines to serve the large and developing markets of the Indian subcontinent, East- and South Africa, as well as GCC countries. which can be directly accessed from Duqm.
