
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding an apparent fatal road traffic incident that claimed the life of 34-year-old Rennix Francis of Belles.
According to police, at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, officers received a report of an unresponsive man below a bridge in the Concord Valley area.
Police responded to the scene and discovered the body of Francis in the water beneath the bridge with apparent injuries. His motorcycle was found nearby.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Francis had been travelling from the Kalinago Territory to Belles during the early hours of Saturday morning before his lifeless body was discovered.
Francis was transported to the Marigot Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was subsequently transferred to a funeral home, where it will remain pending the results of an autopsy.
The CDPF has extended sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident are ongoing.
