MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – More than 3,500 troops from several NATO countries, including the United States, and hundreds of combat vehicles are taking part in the Amber Shock drills which have begun at the training ground in Ożysz in Poland, RIA Novosti reports citing the RMF24 radio station.
It was noted that the exercise will last until Friday and will conclude with live ammunition firing.
The Amber Shock drills will involve tactical scenarios and live-fire exercises, said Lieutenant Colonel Dariusz Guzenda, a spokesperson for the multinational Northeast Division.
Amber Shock is part of the exercises codenamed Saber Strike, which are taking place in Poland, Lithuania, and Finland.
The Multinational Division North-East coordinates the activities of NATO multinational battlegroups deployed in Lithuania and Poland. These responsibilities include coordinating training and enhancing situational awareness in the region.
