The commission imposed the fine under Decision No. 163 as part of its consumer protection enforcement efforts.
The company was found to have committed two violations, including providing incomplete information to consumers and incorporating prohibited terms in its general transaction conditions.
The commission also ordered P&G Vietnam to promptly correct the violations, review its transaction terms, and improve information disclosure to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws.
According to the commission, P&G Vietnam cooperated during the investigation, promptly provided documents, and implemented recommendations from the commission.
The company is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise, distributing well-known consumer brands in Vietnam such as Tide laundry detergent, Downy fabric softener, Rejoice and Pantene shampoos, and Pampers diapers.
The commission emphasized that strict enforcement of consumer protection rules enhances transparency in business practices, strengthens legal compliance among enterprises, and safeguards consumer rights, as well as serves as a deterrent against future violations.
