“Ironing the spite: Everyone Returns” will mark the return, for the first and only time, of its five original protagonists: Almendra Gomelsky, Rebeca Escribens, Gianella Neyra, Maricarmen Marín and Katia Condosin a special edition for Mother’s Day. But it won’t just be a historic reunion. For Condos, this will also be the most honest and personal montage, because today those songs of breakup, pain and new beginnings resonate in a different way in his own life.

“I always said that the only thing I didn’t like about Ironing was that we all represented happily married women. And that does not reflect reality: there are women who are alone, separated, divorced, widowed, happy or not. I was sad that the message seemed to be that to be happy you have to be in love and have been married for years. We were not representing everyone”, reflects the actress.
Now, he acknowledges, life has made that speech take on another meaning. “Circumstances are leading us to represent an experience closer to that of many women today. And well, it was my turn,” she admits.
“Ironing the spite: they all return” will mark the long-awaited reunion of its original protagonists.
“Planchando el despecho” was born in 2023, from an idea by Neyra to bring to Peru the Colombian format created by Juan Carlos Mazo. The original proposal was adapted to the style of its local performers, with a combination of own stories, humor, drama and songs about love and heartbreak. This crossover allowed the show to quickly find an identity close to the Peruvian public.
For Katia, a good part of the success of this musical show lies in the emotional validity of its repertoire. The so-called “vein-cutting songs,” he says, continue to appeal because they appeal to universal experiences. Added to this is the collective component of the show, which turns each performance into a kind of shared catharsis, close to the energy of a karaoke or a concert, where the audience not only listens, but sings, remembers and identifies with the stories.
“You know that the experience is going to be group, strong, intense, fun“, summarizes the actress, convinced that this emotional connection is what has allowed the show to maintain its reach among viewers of different generations.
Condos attributes another of the show’s pillars to the chemistry between its members. Beyond the script or direction, he maintains, there are projects that find special strength when genuine complicity is established among those who participate, and that is precisely what, in his opinion, happened with “Planchando el despeho” from the beginning.
First with the original lineup and then with the incorporation of Maricarmen Marín, that connection—made of camaraderie and trust on stage—ended up becoming one of the brands of the show.
“In this new stage, the public will once again encounter a quality, but renewed, proposal. We always seek to innovate and offer something different, so that people leave with surprises. The presence of the five on stage transforms the staging, the vocal ensemble, the choreographies and the general dynamics of the show. In addition, the Exhibition Park will give it a different dimension”, he highlights.

Katia Condos returns to the theater.
For this season, the repertoire will bring together the best of the previous installments, with a selection designed to surprise the public once again. In the case of Condos, he will once again perform “Chico de mi barrio”, one of the songs most celebrated by attendees, and will also return to “She and him”, by José Luis Perales, which he sings with Raúl Zuazo and which, he admits, is one of his favorite moments of the show. To this will be added several group numbers, including “A kiss and a flower.”
Among other songs, they also include “He Was My Life”, “Heart of Stone”, “Where Does Love Go”, “Mamma Mia” and “Who Cares”.
“I guess all the songs are going to have a lot of feeling, the way I’ve always sung them.”, he assures.
Condos is going through an uncertain stage today, but it is not at a standstill. Rather than seeking immediate answers, she has chosen to move forward calmly, focused on what is essential: her children, her well-being and caring for the ties that support her. In the midst of this transition, the stage also appears as a space for affirmation, a place from which to move forward without losing sight of what matters.
“I define this stage of life as a big question mark. The path is made by walking and this is a process that I go through one day at a time”, he emphasizes.

GO AHEAD
After her recent separation from Federico Salazar, with whom she shared a 30-year relationship, Katia Condos is going through a period of changes that she accepts with serenity. Far from settling into the role of victim, the actress assures that today she finds support in her closest environment and in an intense work schedule.
“Right now my friends, my family, my children support me. And work, of course,” he says. Added to this are new projects, such as the film “Not so widow” and her participation in the soap opera “Valentina Valiente”, at a time when, she affirms, she feels accompanied by deep ties.
“I have a very beautiful life, a lot to do and a network of affections that sustains me,” he points out. Although he admits that the process has not been easy, Condos tries to go through it without overestimating the pain. “Pain is inevitable, and I am going through it, I am not avoiding it,” he reflects. “I’m not going to lie, it’s not easy: it hurts. Life is like that and you have to move forward, like the elephant.”
Along the way, she claims to have confirmed something she already sensed about herself: her strength. “Yes, I am super strong, I have a lot of life force,” he says. Regarding Salazar, however, he prefers to keep his distance. “I prefer not to talk about him,” he responds. Also consulted about some recent images in which the journalist is seen entering a woman’s house and hugging her, she points out that she had not seen them.
In the midst of a still uncertain period, her bet seems to be clear: move forward without denying the pain, but without allowing it to define her.
