A letter that I wrote on June 17th raised serious questions about very significant irregularities within Dominica’s CBI Programme and the consequences for our country. The letter was subsequently leaked into the public domain and began circulating on WhatsApp and social media on or around Sunday, August 2nd.

What happened next is worth documenting carefully.

August 2nd: The leaked letter begins circulating on social media.

August 3rd: A Facebook page called “Dominica Facts” is launched without any named person or organisation identified as being behind it. Virtually all of the content I observed was focused on two themes: personal attacks and allegations against me and questions about Secret Bay; and the defence of the Cable Car and other major CBI-funded infrastructure projects.

August 3rd through August 7th: An AI-generated video about me is published by Dominica Facts, accusing me of sexual harassment, claiming that this was why my application for renewal of my U.S. visa was denied, and accompanied by a barrage of posts raising questions about me and Secret Bay while strongly defending the Cable Car and other infrastructure projects.

August 6th: Associates Times publishes an article titled “Gregor Nassief Silent on Questions About CBI-Funded Secret Bay Resort”, repeating allegations relating to sexual harassment and questioning whether those allegations were connected to the denial of my application for renewal of my U.S. visa.

August 15th: WIC News publishes an article titled “Secrets at Secret Bay: Nassief Dodges Scrutiny While Demanding Transparency”, again raising questions about my alleged conduct and treatment of staff and again linking this to the U.S. visa denial.

August 26th: I co-host a private Dominica’s Direction: Let’s Talk discussion at the Fort Young Hotel. It is an invitation-only, no-media civic discussion. Subsequently, CCTV footage confirms that two members of the Prime Minister’s security detail came to the Fort Young some time before the event began at 6:00 p.m. Both were positioned where they could observe attendees arriving, and one remained on the property until after 9:00 p.m. as attendees were leaving. In total, their presence extended over more than four hours.

August 29th: At a Dominica Labour Party gathering, the Prime Minister made a series of remarks which were reasonably believed to have been directed at me, and then asked: “Who are you, boy, to talk down to me?” He did not name me.

August 30th: I published an open response titled “What Happened to the Questions?”  I invited the Prime Minister to name me and put any questions about me, my businesses, or anything I had done directly to me. I said I would answer them. But I also returned to the substantive questions I had been asking.  In addition to the questions on CBI, I mention the eight letters over the preceding six months raising concerns about electoral reform. My response ended with a simple question: “Prime Minister, what happened to the questions and when will you answer them?”

September 1st: I appeared on Q95’s Talk on the Block with Matt Peltier. We discussed several issues, primarily electoral reform and CBI. During the discussion on the Roseau North by-election, I stated my endorsement of Danny Lugay.

September 2nd: I appeared at a UWP meeting at the Goodwill Parish Hall as the featured speaker. I made clear that I was there not as a member of the United Workers Party, or any political party, but as a deeply concerned citizen. I spoke about issues affecting our democracy, our economy and the future of the country, and about the need to have people in Parliament willing to raise their voices, ask questions and demand answers. I again formally endorsed Danny Lugay for the Roseau North by-election.

September 2nd: The Dominica Facts Facebook page comes alive again with 14 new posts about me, including new AI-generated videos. The posts suggested that my public interventions were connected to a political agenda and again raised questions about Secret Bay.

September 2nd:  WIC News published an article titled “Why UWP Now? Questions rise over Gregor Nassief’s political move after reported CBI dispute.”  Within hours, Associates Times published an article titled “Gregor Nassief Exposed: Likely to Contest Elections with UWP, Raised Questions.” The article even reproduced my stutter in quoting my endorsement of Danny Lugay: “I would throw my support behind, um, b b and Mr. B. Hi, Danny.”

For context, my written concerns about the CBI Programme began in 2019. They became public only in August 2026.

The pattern of media coverage is striking.

The “Dominica Facts” page has repeatedly attacked me personally while defending the Cable Car and other Government-supported CBI-funded projects.

Associates Times and WIC News frequently publish stories reflecting many of the same themes, sometimes within minutes or hours of one another. Associates Times has published headlines such as “UWP plans to halt progress of Dominica, eyeing at construction of International Airport” and “‘Our work is not over’ says PM Roosevelt Skerrit at DLP’s Delegates Conference.”

WIC News has carried similarly framed stories including “UWP’s campaign of baseless allegations threatens Dominica’s development and economy”, “World cannot talk about resilience unless they talk about Dominica: PM Skerrit”, and “‘I chose Labour unapologetically’: Ashma McDougall outlines vision for Roseau North.”

In many instances, an article on one publication is followed by a very similar article on the other within minutes or hours.

Readers can draw their own conclusions about the pattern, who may be behind it, and what the ultimate agenda may be.

To be clear, I am not opposed to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. This is not what this article is about.  I am opposed to overt as well as veiled attempts at intimidation because one dares to raise legitimate questions.

As I stated many times, I am more than happy and willing to sit down for a broadcast interview and answer legitimate questions about myself, Secret Bay, or any of my businesses.  But it must be with a named journalist whose identity and publication are independently verifiable and who is prepared to conduct a fair, evidence-based interview.

Instead of answers to the questions raised, we have had attacks, allegations and questions about me.

    But the questions remain.

My legal counsel is now preparing the appropriate steps to petition a Commission of Inquiry into the CBI Programme, as well as judicial review of relevant decisions and actions.

We look forward to those questions finally being answered.

The attacks may continue. So will the questions.

    Gregor Nassief
