Better times have yet to come. In Iran, conservative politicians are at loggerheads with the most extreme supporters of the regime, who are supported by the increasingly powerful Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
The authorities have shut down the internet and are executing opponents. The standard of living is falling. The truce in the war with the United States and Israel is being received with embarrassment by opposition-minded Iranians. At least that claims the weekly Der Spiegelaccording to which they understand this truce as the end of hopes for political changes.
Sadness and uncertainty
“One hundred days after one of the bloodiest massacres in modern history, the country is plagued Iran sadness and uncertainty. Some see historical justice in the (American and Israeli) strikes against the regime. Others feel forgotten precisely because an Islamic government still rules the country.” writes in connection with the January shooting at the Iran International exile station.
During two days, January 8 and 9, government forces killed, even according to moderate estimates, up to thirty thousand protesting civilians who found themselves on the street. The attacks against Tehran were launched by the United States and Israel February 28.
