Young Dominican athlete Omari Caesar has earned an athletics scholarship to Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica, one of the Caribbean’s well-established institutions for developing elite track and field talent. A member of the Aspirers Athletics Club, Caesar’s latest achievement represents another important step in a promising athletic career that has been shaped by consistent training and a strong commitment to his sport.
Caesar has built an impressive list of accomplishments at the junior level. He was named the Most Outstanding Male Athlete at the Sports
Division’s Independence Athletics Championship and has set records in the Primary Schools Boys 1200 metres, primary schools cross country
and the national 3000 metres.
He also captured the Primary Schools Cross Country Championship in consecutive years and made history as the first primary school student
to qualify for the CARIFTA Games while representing Dominica. His recent success continued at the 2026 Trupial Classic in Curaçao, where
he collected three gold medals.
The Dominica Athletics Association Inc. (DAA Inc.) has praised Caesar’s scholarship as a reflection of his ability, determination, and willingness
to put in the work required to succeed.
The Association highlighted the years of early-morning sessions and demanding workouts at Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth that have
contributed to his development. The group also congratulated the young athlete and expressed hope that his accomplishments will motivate other aspiring Dominican athletes to pursue their goals and strive for excellence.
