The total number of applications registered via the electronic system for pilgrims from the Sultanate reached 28,752 by 8 pm on Friday.
The total also included 3,049 applications from Arab and non-Arab residents.
Regarding categories, The “Obligatory Hajj” (Fard) accounted for the largest share at 75%, followed by “Voluntary Hajj” (Tatawwu‘) at 18%, Hajj by proxy for a deceased person at 3%, fulfilling the will of a deceased person at 2%, Hajj by proxy for an incapacitated person at 2%, and Obligatory Hajj for cancer patients at 0.2%.
At the governorate level, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded the highest number of applications with 5,239, followed by Muscat (5,187), North Al Sharqiyah (3,132), Dhofar (2,984), North Al Batinah (2,949), South Al Batinah (2,325), South Al Sharqiyah (1,911), Al Dhahirah (1,220), Al Buraimi (333), Al Wusta (275), and Musandam (148).
