Naalakkersuisoq Maritha Broberg (A) wrote on Facebook at the weekend that she was against restrictions. Now it sounds like she fully supports the alcohol ban in the Municipality of Kujalleq. She does not want to be interviewed by Sermitsiaq about her turnaround.
At the weekend commented naalakkersuisoq for social affairs, labor market, family and Home Affairs, Maritha Broberg (A) a post on Facebook. The post was extremely critical of the alcohol ban in South Greenland, and Maritha Broberg commented with the words:
– I am also against the restrictions.
On that basis, Sermitsiaq has asked naalakkersuisoq if she disagrees with her colleagues in Naalakkersuisut. Maritha Broberg (A), however, writes to Sermitsiaq that she fully supports Naalakkersuisut’s ban on the sale and serving of alcohol in the Municipality of Kujalleq.
– I want to make it clear and emphasize that there is no disagreement in Naalakkersuisut about the case and the decision, and that I fully support Naalakkersuisut’s decision, Maritha Broberg replies in writing to Sermitsiaq.
Her answer left Sermitsiaq with more questions. Sermitsiaq therefore contacted the ministerial secretary again with a request for a telephone interview with Naalakkersuisoq. However, this was rejected without reason. Sermitsiaq wanted information from the department on what the grounds for refusing an interview were:
– Naalakkersuisoq Maritha Broberg has decided not to grant the request for a telephone interview.
– Naalakkersuisoq has already answered the case in writing and clarified that there is no disagreement with Naalakkersuisut about the decision and that she fully supports Naalakkersuisut’s decision, writes the minister’s secretary to Sermitsiaq.
The department: She spoke as a private person
Naalakkersuisut presented the newly approved restrictions in Kujalleq Municipality on Friday evening, and it was at the weekend that naalakkersuisut Maritha Broberg wrote on Facebook that she was against the restrictions in a comment on a critical post.
Sermitsiaq has learned that naalakkersuisoq deleted the post after Sermitsiaq contacted him on Monday about the matter.

The minister’s secretary further writes that naalakkersuisoq does not want the debate to turn to naalakkersuisoq’s “own statements”:
– The reason why naalakkersuisoq does not want to comment further now is that she wants the topic to be about Naalakkersuisut’s decision and its purpose and not turn to her own statements on Facebook.
The chairman of Naalakkersuisut does not want to comment on his naalakkersuisoq member
Sermitsiaq has contacted the Chairman of Naalakkersuisut Jens Frederik Nielsen (D) on Monday for comment on Maritha Broberg’s position. The Naalakkersuisut chairman does not respond directly to the Naalakkersuisut member’s comments.
Question: What does the Chairman of Naalakkersuisut say to Naalakkersuisoq for Social Affairs, Labor Market, Family and Home Affairs’ response to the temporary closure of the sale and serving of alcohol in the Municipality of Kujalleq?
– We support Kommune Kujalleq’s demand to close the sale and serving of alcohol and have acted on that basis, writes the Chairman of Naalakkersuisut.
However, he does not respond directly to Maritha Broberg’s comment on social media, and when Sermitsiaq subsequently asked the question again, he refers to his previous answer.
