Iran announced today that it has received “new proposals” from the United States to end the war in the Middle East permanently, but has not yet responded, reports the official IRNA news agency.
“In recent days, during the visit to Tehran by the commander of the Pakistani army, as mediator, the Americans presented new proposals; Iran is currently analyzing them and has not yet responded”, reads a note from the Supreme National Security Council.
In the note reported by IRNA and cited by the French news agency, France-Presse (AFP), Iranian leaders guarantee that their negotiators will not make “any compromise”.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military attack against Iran, justifying it with the Islamic Republic’s inflexibility in negotiations to put an end to uranium enrichment as part of its nuclear program, which it claims is intended only for civilian purposes.
In retaliation for the offensive, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, shaking the world economy, and launched attacks against targets in Israel, US bases and civilian infrastructure in countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman and Iraq.
