The Myanmar Golf Federation (MGF) has announced that the MGF President’s Cup 2026 for amateur and senior golfers will be held in Yangon over four days in early August.
Organized by the MGF, with primary sponsorship from SAE PAING Development Ltd and Phyo Si Thu Teak Plantation (Myanmar), the tournament will take place from 3 to 6 August at the Yangon Golf Club (Danyingon).
Men’s amateur category is open to players with a handicap of 0 to 12. Men’s senior amateur is open to players with a handicap of 0 to 18, categorized into age groups: 55-60, 61-65 and 66-75.
The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Rules of Golf 2023 prescribed by the R&A Rules Limited and the United States Golf Association (USGA), alongside local tournament rules. The registration deadline is 1 August, by 2:00 pm. The entry fee is 30,000 kyats per person. Interested participants can register by calling 09-421002259. Players who have previously registered are also required to reconfirm their entries.
Amateur participants must submit their World Handicap System (WHS) Handicap Index Card (recognized by the MGF) and a Handicap Certificate issued by their respective member golf clubs. — MT/ZN
