Minutes before a news conference announcing two measles-related deaths in Pennsylvania, Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) had a heated call with the Trump administration’s top health official.
Before television cameras on Tuesday, the governor accused Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of sowing confusion about vaccines and contributing to the return of a disease the United States eliminated more than a quarter-century ago. Shapiro said he told Kennedy that the state did not want additional help from the federal government.
