A major technical fault has disrupted multiple public service systems, leaving users unable to access online platforms and remote services since early Thursday.
The disruption began during the early hours of 23 April and affects the main website, online accounts and parts of the phone service. The primary website remains offline, with a temporary replacement page in use. Remote transactions through digital channels are not working.
Officials have asked users to delay contact unless their case is urgent. Phone support for basic income assistance remains open but is limited to urgent cases. Delays are expected due to high demand.
Jukka Melanen, IT director at the agency, said teams are working to identify the cause and restore services. “We are investigating the reason for the technical fault and working closely to fix it as soon as possible,” he said. He added that there are no signs of a denial-of-service attack.
The outage has affected access to applications, personal accounts and other digital transactions. Users have reported difficulty reaching services through both online and remote channels.
The agency issued an apology for the disruption and said updates will follow as repair work continues.
