BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Kazakhstan’s
exports to Türkiye reached $3.23 billion in the first half of 2026,
increasing by 94.3% year-on-year, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade
and Integration said.
This was announced in a report published by the Kazakh Ministry
of Trade and Integration.
“Essentially, over the year, the volume of supplies to this
market has almost doubled. This is one of the highest growth rates
among Kazakhstan’s largest trading partners and an indicator of
expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two
countries,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, significant export growth was also
recorded in shipments to France, which increased by 45.2%,
Uzbekistan by 39.5%, and Germany by around 10%.
China remained the largest individual market for Kazakh goods.
Kazakhstan’s exports to China amounted to around $7.51 billion in
the period from January through June 2026, accounting for 18.6% of
the country’s total exports.
The top 10 export destinations also included Italy with $6.98
billion, Russia with $3.49 billion, the Netherlands with $2.6
billion, France with $2.32 billion, and Uzbekistan with $2.14
billion.
Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover increased by 7.2%
year-on-year in nominal terms in January-June 2026, reaching
$71.792 billion. Exports amounted to $40.332 billion, up 8.6%,
while imports increased by 5.4% to $31.460 billion.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Trade and Integration
Aset Nusupov told Trend in an exclusive interview that the country’s
National Product Catalogue (NPC) is creating new opportunities for
cross-border trade.
“The NPC is the foundation on which the entire architecture of
digital trade is built. Its impact is multi-level. Within the
country, it serves as a ‘single digital passport’: from the
producer to the point of sale, the government, businesses, and
consumers can see the full chain,” Nusupov said.
He noted that the system also serves as the basis for developing
product traceability, which has been actively advanced in
Kazakhstan since December 2025 through the product traceability
information system.
According to the vice minister, the NPC has become a point of
integration for various systems as part of trade digitalization.
Its interaction with electronic invoices, cash registers and the
public procurement portal ensures seamless data exchange between
market participants.
“No transaction remains in the ‘shadow’. I would like to
emphasize that this regulatory measure is not aimed at excessive
control, but at creating a secure and trusted environment for
trade,” Nusupov emphasized.
He separately highlighted the potential of the NPC for
developing international trade.
“A unified product identifier is a universal ‘language’
understood by any trade system. When a product is exported from
Kazakhstan, its NTIN accompanies the shipment, which simplifies
customs clearance in the destination country, provided that
identifiers are mutually recognized,” the vice minister said.
