BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Various offences were unearthed in a joint enforcement operation conducted by the Brunei-Muara Police District at two separate locations within the Bandar Seri Begawan area with the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) detaining one foreign male and one foreign female for investigation under the Immigration Act.
Meanwhile, the Labour Department also detected three offences under Section 81 relating to the failure to provide workers with suitable accommodation and the failure to maintain environmental cleanliness in accordance with legal requirements, as well as two offences under Section 86 for failing to declare workers’ accommodation in the Foreign Worker Licence.
The Department of Electrical Services also detected two offences under the Electricity Act (Chapter 71).
The Human Trafficking Investigation Unit interviewed 19 individuals across both operations and no human trafficking offences were detected.
The joint enforcement operation reflects the continued commitment of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), in collaboration with other government agencies, to ensure compliance with the law and safeguarding public safety and well-being throughout the Brunei-Muara District.
The massive operation was led by Acting Commanding Officer of the Brunei-Muara Police District Superintendent Mohamad Noor Abd Rahman.
It involved over 200 enforcement personnel from the Brunei-Muara Police District, the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit and Public Relations Unit of the RBPF, the INRD, the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Internal Security Department, the Labour Department, the Department of Electrical Services, the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department and the Religious Enforcement Division. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
