Through his X account, the elected president Abelardo de la Espriella announced this Saturday that Indalecio Dangond will be his Minister of Agriculture.
“I have appointed Indalecio Dangond Baquero as Minister of Agriculture, a man who knows the land, understands the farmers and knows that the wealth of our Nation begins in agriculture. We will work so that our producers have property titles, access to credit, technical assistance, technology, irrigation and new markets,” said the president-elect.

Likewise, the profile of the new minister was announced, This being a 62-year-old man from Barranquilla, a lover of Vallenato culture and folklore. He is a business administrator, but his experience in the agricultural sector is almost 40 years.
Among the fundamental aspects that Dangond Baquero must develop are:
- Banking of 2.5 million farmers
- Legalization of land titles
- Promotion of the construction of irrigation districts because “agriculture is written with water.”
For his part, the new minister also assures that it is necessary to carry out a national agricultural census and mobilize a generational replacement that allows the countryside to continue ‘cultivating’ technical farmers through 700 rural entrepreneurship schools.

According to information published by the president-elect, this is the experience of Dangond, who will assume the position of Minister of Agriculture:
● Business Administrator from the Externado de Colombia University.
● Founder and president of Open Loans. (Since 2011).
● Financial coordinator in the agribusiness component of the United States Agency for International
Development – USAID, MIDAS program (More Investment for Sustainable Alternative Development).
● External consultant at Fedepalma (2005–06).
● Technical secretary of the National Agricultural Credit Commission. (2004–05)
● Office Advisor at the Fund for the Financing of the Agricultural Sector (Finagro). (2003–04).
● Office Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. (1998–03) (2015)
● Dispatch Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Trade. (1996-98)
● Director of Port Planning and Port technical director of the Superintendence of Ports. (1994–96)
