After a long break, Il Nuovo Titano, the historic newspaper of the San Marino socialist movement founded in 1903, returns. The Party of Socialists and Democrats relaunches the publication with a renewed look and a new direction, entrusted to Anastasia Merli, 25 years old. The last editorial experience dates back to 2006, under the guidance of Fausta Morganti.
The periodical will be distributed free of charge in the homes of San Marino, with the aim of reaching a wide audience and going beyond the circle of PSD members and supporters. The aim is to offer a space for information and in-depth analysis on politics, society and the transformations of the country, in a context dominated by the speed of news and debate on social media.
The project takes up the motto of the last PSD Congress, «Same roots, new horizons», and is spread over twelve pages. Among the main themes is the European path of San Marino, together with the institutional activity of the party, the proposals of the project groups, the initiatives of the young people of Gen SM and the positive experiences of the territory.
There will also be space for the Leading Voices column, which will host personalities from politics, economics and culture: the first contribution will be that of Michele de Pascale, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region. There will be no shortage of stories of San Marino people abroad, the historical memory of the socialist movement and a comic strip in San Marino dialect signed by Mario Angiuoni.
The paper version will be accompanied by the website www.ilnuovotitano.sm, with in-depth analysis, interviews, videos and multimedia content also accessible through the QR codes present in the newspaper.
The declared objective of the PSD is to recover a significant part of San Marino’s political history, putting it at the service of the present and opening up the discussion to new ideas and sensitivities.
