U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance canceled his trip to Switzerland on Thursday amid continued heavy-handed attacks in Lebanon between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah. On Wednesday, Washington and Tehran signed an agreement to end the war that began on February 28.
Within hours of the US-Iran ceasefire coming into effect, an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon killed 20 people. The Iranian military has announced that it has closed the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation.
