Continue moving at the regional and international levels to hold an emergency session of the Security Council to discuss the attacks

Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held yesterday at Gudaibiya Palace.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council extended its highest thanks and great gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, for the lofty implications of His Majesty’s praise of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during the Ashura season. The Council praised the efforts of the concerned authorities, led by the Ministry of Interior, in preparing all means of success and providing the necessary elements for the success of the Ashura season, pointing out what distinguished it. The Ashura season is highly disciplined and organized, thanks to the great efforts made by government agencies, led by the Ministry of Interior, the Council of Islamic Endowments Affairs, distinguished scholars and sheikhs, heads of obsequies, supervisory committees, and field work teams of volunteers.
The Council then welcomed the joint statement of the ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United States of America, and the emphasis it included on the necessity of maintaining the momentum and unity of the negotiations in order to reach a permanent end to the sinful Iranian aggressions.
In the context of the regional situation, the Council heard a report presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding the renewed Iranian attacks on the Kingdom’s lands with ballistic missiles and drones. The Council affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s condemnation in the strongest terms for these heinous attacks that target civilian objects, vital installations, and the security of citizens and residents, and represent a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, international law, and Security Council Resolution No. 2817 (2026), and a violation of the pledges made by the Iranian regime under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The Council stressed that the repetition of these attacks will not undermine the Kingdom’s resolve and the steadfastness of its people, reaffirming Bahrain’s legitimate right to defend its sovereignty and security in accordance with international law. The Council directed to continue taking action at the regional and international levels, and to follow up on the emergency session of the UN Security Council that the Kingdom requested to convene to discuss these repeated attacks, in a way that forces the international community to assume its responsibilities in ensuring the implementation of Council Resolution No. 2817 (2026) and stopping these attacks immediately.
The Council also sent a greeting of thanks and appreciation to the Bahrain Defense Force, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and all military, security and civil services in appreciation of their efforts in protecting the sovereignty, security and national interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain with all competence and ability.
The Council then pointed out the importance of the two Ramli Suburb electricity transmission stations, which were opened recently, and the qualitative addition they represent to the infrastructure of the electricity sector and support for economic and urban development in the Kingdom.
The Council also expressed its sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the government of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people, and to the families and families of the martyrs of the Saudi Aramco helicopter crash, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy, make them dwell in His spacious paradise, and inspire their families with patience and solace.
The Council then condemned the renewed Iranian terrorist attacks on the sister State of Kuwait with missiles and drones, stressing that they represent a blatant violation of the sovereignty, security and stability of the State of Kuwait, and a violation of the rules of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Council then agreed to amend the periodicity of the regular meetings of the Council of Ministers during the months of July and August 2026 to be once every two weeks.
After that, the Council considered a number of memorandums submitted to it by ministerial committees and ministers and agreed to the following:
1. Contributions and subscriptions of the Kingdom of Bahrain to a number of international organizations.
2. The amended version of the memorandum of understanding between the governments of the Arab member states of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), in order to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, and the amended rules and procedures for the work of the group.
3. Memorandum of understanding between the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies and the British University.
4. The National Health Strategy (2026-2030), which includes a number of initiatives aimed at continuing to develop the health sector.
5. The government’s response to a number of proposals willingly submitted by the House of Representatives and proposals for a law submitted by the Shura Council.
The Council also reviewed the latest developments in the priorities of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning within the government program (2023-2026).
The Council also reviewed a number of reports on:
1. Results of participation in the 165th regular session meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.
2. Results of the visit of the United States Secretary of State to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
3. Results of organizing the high-level international conference on coexistence and religious diversity.
4. Results of participation in Saudi Water Week.
5. Results of participation in the meeting of health ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries regarding the strategic stock.
6. Foreign participations of ministers and visits by ministers of brotherly and friendly countries to the Kingdom of Bahrain during the month of July 2026.
