Provisional life expectancy at birth was 79.8 years for boys and 84.7 years for girls in 2025, according to Statistics Finland.
Compared to 2024, life expectancy grew for boys by 0.17 years and fell for girls by 0.03 years.
The number of deaths in 2025 was 59,209, which is 942 more than one year earlier.
In all, 1.6 per cent more persons died in 2025 than in 2024.
The general mortality rate grew by one per cent from the year before.
Infant mortality went down slightly from the previous year.
