Firefighters check the shaft | Image source: Vaduz fire department
The Vaduz fire department was alerted on Friday afternoon. For unknown reasons, gasoline had probably leaked into an inlet shaft in one property.
On site, the emergency services checked the concentration of vapors in the shaft using a measuring device and supplied fresh air using a battery-powered fan. A sewer cleaning company called in then pumped the shaft empty.
Fire engine 2 was deployed with 21 emergency services, the command vehicle and the rescue vehicle. The rest of the team was on call in the depot for further orders.
