JOHOR BARU: The new Johor executive council line-up has been unveiled with four new faces.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced that six of the exco members have been retained from the previous term namely Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai), Mohd Hairi Mad Shah (Larkin), Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah), Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), Lee Ting Han (Paloh) and Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir).
The new faces that have been named are Hasrunizah Hassan (Pulai Sebatang), Dr Naqib Ghazib (Panti), Md Israk Abdullah (Kukup) and P. Pannir Selvam (Perling).
Onn Hafiz said the exco appointments are not a privilege but a heavy responsibility to serve the people.
“I reminded them that there is no honeymoon period.
“The mandate given by the rakyat has to be translated into more efficient service to ensure we are more focused on the state government’s Maju Johor 2030 agenda,” he said during a press conference at the Mentri Besar’s official residence in Saujana here on Saturday (July 18).
Earlier, they took their oath of service during a swearing in ceremony before Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Serene on Saturday morning.
During the 16th Johor state election held on July 11, Onn Hafiz led Barisan Nasional to a stunning victory by bagging 48 out of the 56 seats contested.
He was sworn in as Mentri Besar for the second term on the next day.
The exco portfolios are as follows:
Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor – Housing and local government
Mohd Hairi Md Shah – Youth, sports, entrepreneur development and cooperatives
Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid – Islamic religious affairs
Ling Tian Soon – Health and environment
Lee Ting Han – Investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources
Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh – Works, transportation, infrastructure and communications
Hasrunizah Hassan – Women, family and community development
Md Israk Abdullah – Agriculture, agro-based industry and rural development
Dr Naqib Ghazali – Education and information
P. Pannir Selvam – Unity, heritage and culture
