Footage from Operation “File 23”: 9 arrested for war crimes are detained for 48 hours, the first weapon is seized

Nine people were arrested today by the Kosovo Police on suspicion of committing war crimes in Kosovo and, by decision of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, they were detained for 48 hours.
In a joint communique for “Operation ‘File 23′”, the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Kosovo Police announced that the arrested persons are suspected of the criminal offense of “War crimes against the civilian population”, publishing view from this operation.
“DD, MR, MR, RR, SD, SD, VL, RR and DD are suspected of committing the criminal offense of ‘War crimes against the civilian population'”, the communiqué states.
According to the authorities, police investigators from the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes, supported by other units of the Kosovo Police, have carried out checks in several locations in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
“During the raid, the following material evidence was seized”, the announcement states.
The authorities announced that during the raids they seized:
- nine (9) mobile phones;
- two (2) military notebooks;
- one (1) long gun and one (1) hunting rifle;
- 7.65 mm caliber cartridges and shotgun cartridges;
- four (4) shells;
- cash in the amount of about 23,000 (twenty-three thousand) euros;
- cash in the amount of approximately 60,000 (sixty thousand) Serbian dinars.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Kosovo Police have emphasized whether they will continue to engage in cases related to war crimes.
“The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo and the Kosovo Police reaffirm their dedication and commitment to criminal prosecution and bringing to justice all persons suspected of committing war crimes,” the joint communiqué states.
