Andra McKenzie from Seabourn, Sebastian Charge from Adventure Canada, Aaron Lawton from Viking, Annika Rautiola from Ponant and AECO co-founder Martin Karlsen have been appointed as the first ambassadors for responsible Arctic tourism by the industry organization AECO. The organization itself writes this in a press release.
The five represent different parts of the expedition cruise industry and have completed a special training and evaluation process to be able to represent the organization’s mission, values and standards.
AECO’s managing director, Frigg Jørgensen, welcomes the appointments.
– We are honored and proud to welcome our first group of AECO ambassadors. Their commitment, experience and efforts strengthen our ability to spread our message and promote responsible practices throughout the Arctic, she says.
