The Jordanian military announced on Tuesday it had intercepted five Iranian drones, the latest attack by the Islamic Republic on countries in the region following the resumption of the Middle East war.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards confirmed the attack, claiming in a statement that they had targeted a “complex housing US terrorist forces in the region of Rukban”.
Earlier today, Iran’s IRGC claimed several strikes against US military targets in Jordan, including a missile defence radar system and an F-15 jet.
Donald Trump on Monday said Iran would “pay” for killing U.S. soldiers after multiple service members were killed over the weekend as part of the United States’ war against Iran, marking one of the deadliest days for U.S. forces since the war started in February.
The number of U.S. troops killed in the war on Iran rose to 17 over the weekend, with the remains of an additional service member being examined.
Two of the personnel were confirmed to have been killed when Iran attacked U.S. personnel in Jordan.
