SAN MARINO – The signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union represents a fundamental step for the international relations of the Republic, but also the beginning of a new political and institutional phase. This is what Repubblica Futura claims, which considers the agreement a basis for building new development opportunities for citizens and businesses.
“Repubblica Futura considers the signature a starting point and not a point of arrival”, states the movement, underlining that the agreement will allow relations with the European Union to be organized in a more organic way.
The political force recalls the contribution provided to the negotiation process over the years, both by the government benches and by the opposition, highlighting the involvement of at least five different governments and majorities of different composition.
In the statement, Repubblica Futura recognizes the understandability of the fears of some citizens in the face of the changes linked to the agreement, also recalling the critical issues which, in its opinion, slowed down the conclusion of the negotiations.
For the movement, however, Europe represents the natural cultural, social and historical reference of San Marino. The implementation phase of the agreement will therefore be decisive for translating its contents into concrete results.
“The real work begins today to give shape and substance to the contents of the Agreement”, concludes Repubblica Futura, ensuring that it will face the next political and institutional steps while maintaining its positions on the European path and placing national interest at the centre.
