SAN MARINO – Generazione Libera, Libera’s youth movement, welcomes with satisfaction the signing of the Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union, considering it a historic step for the future of the Republic and, in particular, for the new generations.
According to the movement, the agreement represents an opportunity to strengthen European integration without giving up San Marino sovereignty and identity. The objective is to overcome the obstacles that have so far limited young people’s opportunities for training, work and professional development.
Among the main expected benefits, Generazione Libera indicates greater participation in European mobility and exchange programs, such as Erasmus, the recognition of educational qualifications and professional qualifications and new internship and career opportunities in the countries of the Union.
Particular attention is also paid to the economic prospects. Access to the single European market, according to the movement, will benefit small businesses, startups and young entrepreneurs from San Marino, reducing bureaucratic, banking and customs obstacles and expanding the possibilities for growth in the sectors of innovation, digitalisation and ecological transition.
Generazione Libera also underlines the importance of a more active participation of young San Marino people in European networks, also to contribute to the international discussion on the environment, rights and work.
“Being European does not mean giving up our identity at all,” states the movement, arguing that greater integration can help strengthen the international role of the Republic.
The signing of the Agreement is however considered the beginning of a journey that will require commitment and ability to adapt. For Generazione Libera it will be essential to transform the opportunities provided by the agreement into concrete results, so that young San Marino people can benefit from conditions that are increasingly closer to those of their European peers.
