Dreshaj: Minister Muja’s decisions risk the mass departure of workers from dairies

The President of the Kosovo Business League, Besart Dreshaj, spoke at EURO in T7 about the problems of milk producers and their products in relation to the Ministry of Agriculture and the AUV.
He said that the ministers, when they accept the office, do not represent the interests of the political party, but of all the citizens of the country, including local producers.
The dairy sector, according to him, is in a difficult situation due to blockades and prohibitions imposed by the Government, specifically by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is losing production, market, labor and financial capacity.
According to Dreshaj, this situation must be stopped immediately and Minister Muja must go out and visit the local producers, to see closely that their production is of high quality, to be proud of them and not to block them, as is happening now.
“Now, due to these actions taken by the Government, it is expected that the workers will be dismissed from work in 16 dairies, because no one can keep the workers when there is no production and circulation, either in the internal market or outside Kosovo. We have turned to Minister Muja with requests and told him that the problems in this sector are not solved with press conferences, attacking local producers, in this case the company ‘Devolli'”, said Dreshaj.
Dreshaj reminded the Government that, outside Kosovo, local producers are being appreciated for their quality and correctness, while inside the country they are being attacked. According to him, this practice should end.
“I was in official meetings at the World Trade Organization in Geneva and, during the meetings with different companies and countries, they talked about the big Kosovar company Devolli, about its correctness and quality products. Devolli and Kosovar companies are our most powerful ambassadors and Kosovo’s institutions should feel proud of these companies.
These businesses have contributed and continue to contribute to building the state and filling the state coffers with taxes. Even the salary of the minister, who has undertaken very harmful actions in relation to these companies, is financed by the taxes they have paid”, Dreshaj said.
