Mikey Mercer completed a sensational double on Sunday night, capturing both the Sweet Soca Monarch and Power Soca Monarch crowns at the National Botanical Gardens during the Banks Party Monarch Finals, Powered by HITZ 106.7 FM.
He dominated both competitions, earning a perfect 100 points in each final to secure the titles and a combined $200 000 in prize money.

Mikey won the Sweet Soca Monarch title with Real Feters, earning a perfect 100 points, the championship trophy and $100 000. He was followed by Mr Blood, whose Crop Over Forever scored 68 points for second place, along with $50 000 and a trophy. Khiomal’s Back To When finished third with 61 points, earning $40 000 and a trophy, while Ross placed fourth with Come And Go, scoring 52 points to receive $20 000.

In the Power Soca final, Mickey again earned a flawless 100 points with Like Ah Bajan to capture the title, trophy and $100 000. Shaquille GFG finished second with Afterall, scoring 75 points to claim $50 000, while Lil Rick’s Best Ting placed third with 62 points for $40 000. Nikita rounded out the top four with Extraordinary, earning 55 points and $20 000.
Speaking to an ecstatic crowd moments after his victories, the double Soca king declared: “I love wunna bad, bad, bad.”
