Remilia White, Chief of Protocol in Dominica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade, and Energy, is participating in a U.S. Department of State professional exchange focused on advancing economic prosperity.
White is taking part in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), described as a premier professional exchange programme for emerging and established leaders from around the world, as per a release from the U.S. Embassy Bridgetown.
White is participating in the multi-regional IVLP project, “Advancing U.S. and Global Economic Prosperity,” which runs from September 21 to October 9, 2026.
The release shared that the programme brings together international professionals to examine approaches to economic growth, global competitiveness, financial systems, trade, investment, entrepreneurship and innovation in the United States.
White has served as Dominica’s Chief of Protocol since 2018. Her responsibilities include working with government agencies to coordinate foreign policy interests and supporting the planning, organisation, management, coordination and supervision of protocol services.
She also monitors and researches political developments in the global community and provides information to support decision-making.
As part of the IVLP, White will have opportunities to engage with U.S. government officials, private-sector representatives, financial institutions, universities and economic development organisations.
The programme includes visits to Washington, D.C.; Detroit, Michigan; Charlotte, North Carolina or Louisville, Kentucky; and Orlando, Florida. Participants will examine issues including international trade, foreign direct investment, entrepreneurship, regional economic development and technology-driven growth.
The exchange takes place as the United States and Dominica reportedly continue cooperation on matters of mutual interest, including economic development, trade, investment and strengthening institutional capacity.
The U.S. Embassy said professional exchanges such as the IVLP provide opportunities for the two countries to share expertise, develop practical partnerships and strengthen connections that support economic growth and opportunity in both countries.
