The Dominica Lions Club is continuing its community outreach efforts, putting its commitment to the international Lions motto, “We Serve,” into action through assistance to vulnerable individuals and institutions.
The club said it recently received a generous donation from Lion Jean Joseph, Immediate Past President of the New York Lions. A press release stated that the contribution included adult diapers, baby diapers, wipes, gloves, and various food supplies.
The club also shared that the donated items were distributed to 13 individuals, including single parents and others facing difficult circumstances, providing practical assistance to those in need.
Several community-based institutions also benefited from the contribution. Supplies were provided to the Grotto Home for the Homeless, Agape Nursing Home, Delices House of Hope and the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association Pantry, as per the release.
The Dominica Lions Club said the initiative reflects the wider Lions movement’s emphasis on compassion, solidarity and service, demonstrating how community support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing hardship.
The contribution also highlights the club’s call for greater collaboration with organizations, businesses and individuals who are interested in giving back to the community.
The club is inviting potential partners to work alongside its members in efforts aimed at creating stronger, more caring and resilient communities.
