This Sunday, May 3, the Morena National Congress appointed Ariadna Montiel Reyes as the new president of the party’s National Executive Committee, replacing Luisa María Alcalde Luján.
Montiel has a history close to the so-called “Fourth Transformation” project. He served as Welfare Secretary between 2022 and 2026, in addition to having been part of the undersecretary of the same agency, where he was in charge of the operation of priority social programs at the national level.
His arrival to the leadership of Morena Mexican Party It occurs in a context of internal adjustments within the party, in view of the upcoming electoral processes, with the aim of strengthening its territorial structure, internal cohesion and organizational capacity.
The change in the presidency is part of a series of strategic changes, in a scenario where the party maintains a predominant position in the political life of the country.
