    The death of the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani:

    Today, Tuesday, commissioned by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a senior Algerian delegation will arrive in the State of Qatar to offer condolences on the death of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

    A statement to the National Assembly said: “Azouz Nasseri, Speaker of the National Assembly, went this morning, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to the State of Qatar, to offer his condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, following the death of his father, Prince Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.”

    Nasseri is accompanied on this mission by the Minister of the Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Al-Saeed Saeed, and Major General Mohammed Al-Saleh bin Bisha, Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defence, along with the Chief of Staff of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Professor Makhlouf Sahel, and the Acting Director of the Levant Countries and the League of Arab States at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ihsan Al-Naouq.

    Yesterday, Monday, the Emir of Qatar received crowds of mourners on the death of the father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at Lusail Palace, according to what he announced. The Amiri Diwan.

    Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received the sheikhs, ministers, notables, citizens and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the state, who expressed their sincere condolences and sympathy on the death of the great deceased of the nation, praying to God Almighty to cover him with His vast mercy and dwell him in His spacious Paradise.

    He also received the Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamd Al-Sabah, The Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, They were accompanied by senior officials.

    Rwandan President Paul Kagame and the Prime Minister of Pakistan also attended to pay their respects Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam.

    The Diwan had announced that the Emir of the country will receive mourners, including leaders of countries, members of the ruling family, notables, and citizens, at Lusail Palace over a period of three days, from Monday, July 13, until Wednesday, July 15, 2026, during the morning period from eight in the morning until eleven thirty, and the evening period from after the afternoon prayer until the evening prayer.

    Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of the State of Qatar and father of the current Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, died on Sunday at the age of 74, while general mourning was declared in the country for four days and flags were flown at half-mast, amid a state of official and popular grief.

    Subsequently, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, extended his sincere condolences to the family of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of the State of Qatar and the father of the current Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

    It came in Condolence telegram Which was published by the account of the Algerian Public Television Corporation: “I received with great emotion and sorrow the news of the transfer of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to the side of his Lord, responding to his call. In the wake of this great loss and painful tragedy, I extend to your Highness my sincerest condolences, solidarity, and sincere feelings of sympathy.”

    The President of the Republic added that the deceased was “one of the great builders of the sisterly State of Qatar and an Arab leader known for his wisdom and for everything he gave to Arab issues,” asking God Almighty to cover him with his vast mercy and inspire his family with patience and solace.

    He also recalled the distinguished relationship that brought the late Emir together with Algeria, stressing that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani had a special love for Algeria, which felt the same way, and he forged strong bonds with it through his repeated visits, which contributed to strengthening fraternal relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
