SAN MARINO – The electoral phase opens for the renewal of COMITES, the Committee of Italians Abroad which represents Italian citizens residing on Titan in relations with diplomatic-consular and local institutions. The new body, whose mandate lasts five years, will be made up of 12 elected members.
The procedures for the presentation of the lists are underway, each of which will have to collect at least 100 signatures from Italian voters, including those with dual citizenship, who have been registered with AIRE for at least six months. Subscriptions must be authenticated at the Italian Embassy by 2 October 2026.
To facilitate the collection of signatures, the Embassy is accessible without an appointment from Monday to Thursday, from 2pm to 3pm, and on Friday from 10am to 12pm. Three extraordinary sessions are also planned in the Sala Montelupo di Domagnano: Friday 25 September from 4pm to 6pm, Tuesday 29 September from 4pm to 7pm and Thursday 1 October from 3pm to 5pm.
To participate in the voting, voters must expressly request registration on the electoral list by 4 November 2026, following the instructions published on the Embassy website. Registration with AIRE alone is not sufficient. The vote will take place by correspondence and the ballots must reach the Embassy by December 4th.
COMITES represents a point of reference for the Italian community residing in San Marino, addressing issues related to social security, bilateral taxation, healthcare, cross-border mobility and citizenship rights.
