CESENA – Trips to the seaside, cultural visits, excursions and activities in contact with nature characterized the summer of the guests of the Elderly Residences managed by the social cooperative Il Cigno between Cesena and Rimini. A program of initiatives organized on the cooler days of the season to encourage socialization and offer leisure opportunities outside the facilities.
In Cesena, guests of the CRA Violante Malatesta visited the Basilica del Monte, accompanied by a guide who illustrated its history and artistic heritage. The residents of CRA Meridiana 1 instead took part in several trips to the seaside, spending days in the open air.
In the Rimini area, the elderly from the Le Grazie structure visited an educational farm, coming into contact with the animals, while the guests of the CRA La Meridiana 3 reached the Riccione Dolphinarium to watch the dolphin and parrot shows.
Among the initiatives mentioned by the cooperative is also the participation of guests of the Rimini facilities in a meeting with the Pope Leo XIV at the Basilica of Rimini. According to what was reported by Il Cigno, during the ceremony the elderly received the Pontiff’s blessing and gave him a letter containing their thoughts and reflections.
The summer program is part of the activities promoted by the cooperative to support the relational well-being of the elderly. Experiences outside the residences are designed to encourage inclusion, keep social relationships active and offer new cultural and cognitive stimuli.
