The annual CARILEC Resilient/Renewable Energy Community (CAREC) Conference & Exhibition 2026 will convene the Caribbean energy community to advance practical solutions to the region’s most pressing energy challenges and accelerate progress toward more resilient, reliable and sustainable power systems. Organized by the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) in collaboration with co-hosts Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) and Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC), the conference will take place from October 18–22, 2026, at the British Colonial Nassau, The Bahamas.
The annual CAREC Conference will bring together approximately 200 utility leaders, energy professionals, policymakers, regulators, development partners and solution providers under the theme “Empowering Progress: Strategic Policy and Planning for the Energy Transition”.
Discussions will address some of the region’s most pressing energy issues, including renewable integration, battery energy storage, grid reliability and modernization, geothermal energy, conventional generation, climate resilience, emerging technologies, and policy and regulatory reform.
CARILEC’s Executive Director, Dr. Cletus Bertin said “Regional collaboration is essential to advancing the Caribbean’s energy transition.
