Caribbean Airlines is discontinuing its direct Trinidad/Tobago-Barbados return service from September 2 as part of an ongoing review of its regional flight schedule.
The airline announced on Tuesday that flights BW212 and BW213, which operate the Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados route, will no longer operate as direct services from that date.
Caribbean Airlines said the move forms part of its efforts to optimise its regional network and align its schedule with customer demand.
However, the airline said passengers will continue to have access to connectivity between Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados through its existing scheduled services.
“Multiple travel options” will remain available across the three destinations, the airline said.
Passengers who already hold bookings on the affected BW212 and BW213 services will be re-accommodated on alternative Caribbean Airlines flights operating on the same day.
The airline said it will contact affected customers directly to provide details of their revised travel arrangements.
Caribbean Airlines urged passengers to ensure the contact information attached to their bookings is accurate and up to date so they can receive notifications about any changes to their travel plans.
The airline said the adjustment is intended to support its broader efforts to maintain reliable and convenient regional connectivity while ensuring its flight schedule reflects current levels of passenger demand.
The latest change comes as Caribbean Airlines continues to adjust its regional network, with demand, aircraft utilisation and operational considerations influencing the structure of its schedule.
Passengers travelling between Trinidad, Tobago and Barbados after September 2 are being encouraged to check their bookings and available flight options before travelling.
The airline said customers with affected reservations do not need to make arrangements independently at this stage, as Caribbean Airlines will contact them regarding their replacement flights.
