The 2025 Population and Housing Census is entering a new phase as authorities ramp up efforts to complete the nationwide exercise as quickly as possible, including the recruitment of 300 census workers.
The Census Department is inviting interested individuals to apply to join the national initiative by scanning the QR code or visiting the recruitment link featured on the official census flyer. Additional information is available by calling 562-7495 or emailing [email protected].
The census, which began late last year under the theme “Mapping the Present, Shaping the Future,” is expected to intensify in the coming weeks as officials launch a nationwide public awareness campaign.
The media campaign, which will be expanded during the Carnival season, aims to educate residents about the purpose of the census, the role of enumerators and what households can expect when they are visited.
Officials are urging the public to cooperate fully with census workers, who will be clearly identified by an official census uniform, a valid Census photo identification card and a letter of authorization.
The Census Department said the information collected will remain confidential and will be used solely for statistical purposes. The data gathered will help guide decisions on national development, including planning for schools, healthcare facilities, public infrastructure, employment initiatives and other essential services.
Authorities are encouraging every household to participate, stressing that an accurate census is critical to ensuring Antigua and Barbuda’s future planning reflects the needs of its population.
