one taxi overturned this morning at the Margineda roundabout, on the General 1 road (CG-1)in an accident that did not cause any injuries. The driver of the vehicle has tested positive for alcohol and has been administratively sanctionedsince the rate detected did not reach the threshold established so that, in the case of professional drivers, the fact entails an arrest. The events took place around 7:00 a.m., when the vehicle was traveling south, in the direction of Sant Julià de Lòria. According to the first information, the driver would have lost control of the taxi for reasons that, at the moment, are unknown.
At the time of the accident, the vehicle was carrying two passengers in the rear seats. Despite the spectacular nature of the accident, none of the three occupants was injured and the incident resulted only in material damage.
The state of the vehicle after the accident
Until the place of events there isn displaced the emergency servicesas well as members of the police force and the traffic service, who have worked to ensure the safety of the area and maintain the flow of traffic while the tasks of assisting and removing the vehicle were carried out.
The police are still investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, although the tests carried out on the driver confirmed a positive blood alcohol result which, by not exceeding the criminal limit applicable to professional drivers, has led to an administrative sanction.
