The General Directorate of Public Employment and Administrative Reform and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security announced, in a joint statement issued today, Monday, the granting of a special license for absence, without loss of salary, for the benefit of workers next Thursday, to enable them to exercise their right to vote during the legislative elections.
The statement explained that this license includes users of public institutions, departments, public and private bodies and offices in various sectors, regardless of their basic law, including employees working on a daily or hourly basis.
On the other hand, the statement called on the relevant institutions, departments and bodies to take the necessary measures to ensure continuity of service in the departments that operate on a rotational system.
This measure follows the summoning of the Electoral College to elect members of the National People’s Assembly, scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 26-145.
