A State Department spokesperson explains that Dogu continues his work to advance the Trump administration’s three-phase plan for Venezuela.

“Ambassador Dogu continues to be the interim chargé d’affaires of the United States Embassy in Caracas and continues her work to promote the Trump Administration’s three-phase plan for a stable, prosperous and democratic Venezuela,” the United States Government tells EFE after the Guatemalan press assured that John Barret would replace Dogu in the diplomatic mission in Caracas.
