The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, pointed out that the current situation caused by the war between Iran and the United States and the increase in the price of oil has led to the “Government to make adjustments” and that is why the recent fuel increases have occurred.
When speaking with the media, Paliza indicated that from the Executive Branch They have subsidized 1,800 million pesos for fuelseven with the increases.
“This is a situation in which the government has some capabilities to mitigate the effects of this crisis, we have always said it. But it is leading, assuming proportions that generate or force the government to have to make some adjustments,” said Paliza.
Paliza’s statements are made after the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mypimes (MICM) reported the increase in premium and regular gasoline, between RD$ 9.00 and RD$ 7.00 pesos, as well as regular and optimal diesel adjustment.
In recent weeks, the gallon of gasoline has suffered an increase of 24 pesosas a result of the conflict between the United States and Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
